The Ego Maniacs of Music and Movie

I was just thinking about how people in the movie, TV, and music industries are always patting themselves on the back with various publicly broadcast awards shows like the Grammys, Emmys, Oscars etc. Then there are the movie and music stars who use their wide audience to espouse their beliefs. What do these people really contribute to the society and how important do they think they are? They provide art and entertainment. The movie industry is perhaps about twice the size of the music industry in terms of revenue generated. If you include live concerts, merchandise, and streaming then perhaps they're the same. However the video game industry is three times the size of the movie industry in terms of revenue generated and they don't have major award shows or use their status to spread their political beliefs. So the movie and music people are really just narcissists and egotists who like drawing attention to themselves.
